Job Summary:
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Specialist located at a healthcare facility. This position involves providing postoperative care for patients recovering from anesthesia, requiring strong pediatric care, telemetry reading, and titration experience. The role includes rotating shifts starting on 10/12/2026, with an emphasis on quick candidate interviews via phone call or text.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shift; 8 hours per shift; 40 hours per week minimum
• Required Qualifications: Valid Iowa (IA) licensed or Compact/Multi-State license; current and recent pediatric care experience; minimum of 12 months PACU/post anesthesia care experience; proficient in telemetry reading and measurement; specific skills checklist aligned with PACU responsibilities; EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; reliable drivers license; proficient in drips and titrations.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in hospital, medical center, same-day surgery, or outpatient surgery settings; previous PACU or post-anesthesia care roles; familiarity with telemetry measurement; current/recent pediatric care experience.
• Additional Information: The assignment begins on 10/12/2026 with potential prioritization for earlier starts. The role requires working 1-2 of the upcoming three winter holidays unless the unit is closed. Orientation sessions are scheduled for 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, and 11/2. Candidates must have at least 24 months of recent PACU/post anesthesia care experience documented on their work history.
• Submission Requirements: Resume or employment history, skills checklist specific to PACU, current Iowa license or multi-state license, active American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, and drivers license documentation. References from a supervisor or nurse manager within the past 24 months are preferred.
