Description
American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
Details
- Work in the PACU unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
- Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- On-call requirement of 100 hours, including weekend on-call coverage
- Floating between units and sister facilities based on unit needs and skill set
- Epic EMR used for charting
- Facility scrubs provided for OR, Critical Care, ED, and Maternal Child units; any color scrub accepted elsewhere
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS (CCRN and NIHSS preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Must have a valid Compact RN license and OR RN license
- Must have a vehicle for this assignment
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide perianesthesia care including airway management, ABG interpretation, and cardiac monitoring
- Care for surgical patients across specialties including neuro, spine, ortho, cardiac, and general surgery
- Support pre- and post-operative patient care, including discharge instructions and medication reconciliation
- Manage patients under various anesthesia types including general, MAC, spinal, and nerve blocks
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Returning staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Must reside within 50 miles for local candidate consideration
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the offer process; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
- No fee for parking at the facility
