Job Details

• Position Description: The Clinical Nurse (CN) is an RN who provides hands-on care to patients, practicing in an evidence-based manner, within the Scope of Practice of the California Nursing Practice Act, regulatory requirements, standards of care, and hospital policies. The CN performs all steps of the nursing process, including assessing patients; interpreting data; planning, implementing, and evaluating care; coordinating care with other providers; and teaching patients and families to manage their care and prevent complications. The CN partners with the patient's family whenever possible, considering all aspects of care, to deliver family-centered care. The CN monitors the quality of nursing care provided. The role includes ensuring professional development, maintaining licensure and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and relevant knowledge of the patient population. Responsibilities include creating a healing environment, managing patient discomfort, providing emotional support, and guiding recovery and passage to death aligned with the patient's goals and cultural considerations. The CN assesses patient data, collaborates on care plans, implements and evaluates interventions, teaches self-care and illness prevention, and seeks opportunities for continual improvement in patient care and work environment. The role also involves team participation, communication, technology utilization, and contributing to professional knowledge through teaching and sharing expertise.
• Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (CA-RN) license, current American Heart Association Certification for Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university (preferred), 1 year of nursing experience.
• Schedule: Rotating shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The position requires excellent communication skills in English, the ability to respond rapidly to problem situations, and adherence to safety and policy standards.
