Job Summary
Trauma Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) The organization is seeking a dedicated RN to work on a 25-bed Trauma Step Down Unit at a general surgical trauma facility. The position involves providing post-operative and acute care to patients with diverse surgical and neurological diagnoses. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, Level 2 trauma environment with a focus on patient-centered care and collaboration.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, excellent customer service skills, and ability to work in a team environment. Experience with trauma, orthopedic procedures, and Meditech electronic medical record system is preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma and orthopedic experience, familiarity with Meditech system.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to stepdown service lines including Progressive Care Unit and Heart and Vascular Unit.
• Additional Information: The unit manages patients requiring acute surgical intervention, cardiovascular and neurological diagnoses, and post-op care for various specialties including trauma, vascular, neuro-surgery, and cardiology. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, patient assessments every four hours, and adherence to unit policies. This is a highly competitive assignment ideal for adaptable and team-oriented RNs looking to gain experience in a trauma center environment.
