Job Summary:

A Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in a healthcare facility located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized patient care to a diverse patient population, including stroke, cardiac (preferably with experience in cardiac drips), post-operative patients (orthopedic, urology, gynecology, general surgery), and general medical cases. The RN must be adaptable and comfortable caring for a wide variety of medical conditions, with the ability to float onsite or to sites within a 40-mile radius if needed.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certification(s) in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), at least 2 years of Medical Surgical (MS) or Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) experience, proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, and travel experience. Candidates should be adaptable to care for a wide variety of patients, including stroke, cardiac, post-op, and general medical cases.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and familiarity with trauma or step-down patient care is preferred.
  • Additional Information: Must be able to care for a diverse patient population, including stroke, cardiac, post-operative, and general medical patients. Candidates may need to float within their skill set or to other sites within 40 miles.
