Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of recent acute care experience required
• Open heart surgery and vascular care experience required
• Strong radial/groin band management and IV skills required
• NIHSS experience required; 2–3 years of telemetry experience preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Compact or state RN license must be in hand at submission
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers are not eligible
• Must be flexible and able to float to like units as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric cardiac telemetry patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, responding quickly to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and post-cardiac surgery needs
• Support patients recovering from open-heart procedures, vascular surgery, and cath lab interventions
• Manage specialized therapies and procedures such as chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, breathing treatments, and blood product administration
• Assist with cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, and advanced cardiac support devices as needed
• Administer and monitor cardiac medications and stable drips according to unit protocols
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered care while adapting to evolving unit needs
