Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality care to post-operative open heart and other cardio thoracic surgical patients. This role requires the ability to manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring in a 29-bed progressive care unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for post-operative patients, including cardiac monitoring and support.
• Assist in the management, insertion, and removal of chest tubes.
• Administer and manage central lines, including internal and external pacemakers and wound vacuums.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to different units as necessary while maintaining care standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a progressive care unit or similar setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Demonstrated experience in chest tube management, central line procedures, and wound care.
• Ability to maintain a patient ratio of 4:1.
• Willingness to work night shifts with a commitment to every other weekend.
• Must possess a valid RN license in the state of West Virginia.

Work Schedule

This position is available for night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, with options for 3x12 or 4x12-hour contracts. Orientation sessions are held bi-weekly on Thursdays.
