Job Summary Stepdown/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Henderson, IN. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a hospital setting within the stepdown or telemetry unit. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care, managing complex medical conditions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure positive outcomes.
Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, every weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Active compact nursing license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), minimum of 2 years of RN experience including one year in stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU), recent Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experiencepreferably EPIC
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PIV insertion, stable home ventilators, chest tube or indwelling drain management, continuous BiPap, and blood product administration
Responsibilities: Providing patient assessments, managing IV drips (insulin, heparin, cardiac), and responding to emergency needs within a fast-paced hospital environment
Additional Information: The role involves first to float within skillset, potential float to nearby campuses, and adherence to unit-specific protocols. Cross campus float opportunity is available with 2-hour notice. Unit features small, experienced team with excellent staff retention.
