An immediate travel contract opening is available for an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in Alexandria, Virginia (Northern Virginia / Washington D.C. metro area). Operating as a vital member of the inpatient acute care and telemetry float team, this position features a stable 3x12 overnight schedule (19:00 PM – 07:00 AM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours guaranteed weekly). NO ON-CALL REQUIRED! OVERTIME OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE! This role floats across progressive care, observation, medical, surgical, and overflow units to support dynamic hospital census needs. Location Details: Assignment is located in Alexandria, VA 22304 (Dept: PCU / Acute Care Float Pool). ⏱️ Assignment Timeline: Assignment running through January 03, 2027 (36 hours guaranteed weekly). No On-Call Obligation: Requisition confirms zero standby on-call requirements. Floating Commitment: Candidate must agree to float across PCU, Observation, Medical, Surgical, and Overflow units as needed per shift. Submittal Rules & Compliance: Active VA or Compact RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS must all be uploaded with the initial submittal packet. Resume must show prior travel nurse experience, Epic EMR proficiency, and specific experience managing/titrating Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Heparin drips. Candidate must agree to pass a telemetry/ECG competency exam. Uniform requirement: Solid Navy Blue scrubs. Facility Cancellation Policy: Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts on assignments 12 weeks or less, or up to 3 shifts on assignments 13 weeks or longer.
