Wellspring Nurse Source is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit Overview

This unit is a 12-bed intermediate care setting that focuses on critical care and neuroscience principles. The patient population includes:

  • Patients transferring from the Neuro ICU
  • Individuals who have experienced neuro trauma, subarachnoid, intraventricular, or intracerebral hemorrhage
  • ENT patients with cancer undergoing tumor resection and flap reconstruction
  • Post-operative spine patients
  • A diverse range of neurological issues

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality patient care within the intermediate care setting
  • Monitoring and assessing patient conditions
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Educating patients and their families about health conditions and care plans

Shift and Schedule

This position requires:

  • Day shifts, 4x12 hours (07:00 - 19:00)
  • A commitment to work every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Flexibility for time off, with approval for 40 hours

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification
  • Experience with Epic electronic health records
  • Adherence to floating policies as required
  • Registered Nurse license; applications accepted with VA license pending

Patient Care Ratio

The patient-nurse ratio is 1:3, ensuring focused and attentive care for each patient.
