TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Canton, Ohio.
UNIT: 4 South Respiratory Stepdown
CLINICAL INTERVIEWS W/ MNGR APPROVAL
ACTIVE OH/COMPACT LICENSE.
Certs Required: BLS.
Experience Required: 2 years. Trach care, Chest tube management, PIV starts, High flow O2, Gtts – amio, Cardizem, Lasix, bumex, dobutamine.
Floating to same care level PCU; notified at beginning of shift.
Will accept first time travelers.
Patient Ratios: 4-5:1 BASED ON ACUITY.
Orientation: Day 1- 12 hours 7a-7p (first 4 hours-onboarding and education, second 8 hours on the floor orienting with nurse) Day 2- 12 hours on the floor orienting with a nurse (working their contracted shift) Day 3- Fist shift on their own.
Patient Types: Memorial 4 South is a 26-bed step-down respiratory unit that provides specialized care for patients with complex medical conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, gastrointestinal bleeds and those requiring ventilator support. The unit also supports patients requiring continuous intravenous therapies for cardiac and renal conditions.
Common diagnosis include-
▪ GI bleed
▪ Pneumonia
▪ Sepsis
▪ Inotropic therapy maintenance for cardiac or renal disease
▪ General overflow
Charting & Equipment:
EMR: Cerner
IV Pump: Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Phillips
Unit specific equipment: hoyer, Sara Steady, Sara Flex
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: Every 3rd weekend
On call? No
Holiday Expectations: Every other holiday
RTO: Approved at time of interview

Schedule cycle: 8-week increments, posted 2 weeks in advance
