Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nurse in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This role involves providing bedside care to patients with a focus on telemetry and cardiovascular monitoring, supporting recovery after surgery, and performing procedures such as arterial line management and chest tube care. The position requires strong telemetry skills and the ability to titrate vasoactive medications, with a scheduled shift of 12 hours during nights, working at least 36 hours per week from September 21, 2026, to December 21, 2026.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Night shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in a telemetry or cardiovascular care setting, with skills in titrating vasoactive medications such as levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine. Experience with procedures like arterial lines, chest tubes, and temporary pacing preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with arterial lines, Flo-Tracs, and temporary pacing procedures. Candidates with these skills will be considered first.
• Additional Information: The unit is a comprehensive stroke and Level 2 trauma center. Staff use GE monitors, Hamilton Bipap and Hiflo, Baxter IV pumps, and Hemospheres. The documentation system is Meditech Expanse. The unit supports cardiovascular and vascular surgery with technology such as central monitors and mobility team support. Floating will be rotated among staff, with travelers floating first. The unit emphasizes bedside shift reports and maintaining a positive patient experience.
