Job Summary:
The Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Prescott, Arizona. This role involves providing care in a specialized step-down setting, managing a variety of complex patient conditions with a focus on cardiac and post-procedural patients. The RN will work in a dynamic environment requiring clinical expertise, strong assessment skills, and adaptability across multiple units within the organization.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, days (first shift), with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Shift rotation includes every other holiday; scheduled 6 weeks in advance for 4-week blocks.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona. Certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). At least 2 years of recent experience in a Step Down Unit or similar acute care setting.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing titratable drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin. Ability to interpret strips from monitors on the unit.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required across MedSurg Tele and PCU units including inpatient holding areas in the Emergency Department.
  • Additional Information: The unit utilizes monitors for cardiac rhythm assessment. Nurses are expected to be comfortable managing complex patient care including post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, CABG post-operative care, and caring for groin sites in a step-down environment. The unit has specific dress code policies, with solid color professional scrubs consistent with organizational guidelines.
