Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse in Rock Island, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized patient care within a dynamic, high-volume unit, requiring flexibility to float across local campuses. The clinician will contribute clinical expertise to support patient recovery and safety, adhering to facility protocols and guidelines.

Job Details:

  • Shift Time: Nights
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Two years of previous stepdown experience, at least one travel contract completed preferred; Illinois state license required; Drivers license; Work history/resume; Skills checklist (completed within 1 year); License verification; Copy of certifications (BLS, ACLS); References - one supervisory reference; Must have taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility (unless in Madison with a 10% rate reduction)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, Central Lines, CBIs, drains; familiarity with medications such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban
  • Additional Information: The position requires working during holidays and may involve on-call duties. Orientation sessions are scheduled periodically throughout the year. Candidates must demonstrate clinical proficiency with critical care procedures and medications, including titration. The unit maintains a patient ratio of 1:7, with staffing aimed at reducing this ratio through filling vacancies.
