Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in an acute care setting. The RN is responsible for providing high-quality patient care by following the nursing care plan, supervising ancillary staff, and ensuring patient safety. This role emphasizes collaborative, patient-centered approaches aligned with organizational safety and quality standards.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (if applicable), minimum of 2 years bedside clinical experience, and relevant educational background.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a progressive care or telemetry unit is a plus.
• Additional Information: Performs initial nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develops and updates individualized care plans, facilitates patient and family education, and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members. Responsible for timely and accurate documentation of all patient interactions and interventions. Participates in discharge planning from day one of admission and provides patient teaching related to discharge needs. Maintains communication regarding patient status changes, supports continuity of care, and seeks clinical support when needed. Delegates appropriately to ancillary staff, ensures safety protocols are followed in all aspects of patient care, and contributes to team-building efforts to maintain a positive work environment. Assumes charge responsibilities after orientation and engages in ongoing professional development.
