Job Summary:
Step Down Unit registered nurse (RN) position in a facility dedicated to adult and geriatric patient care. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, pre/post cardiac catheterization, TAVR procedures, cerebrovascular accidents, COPD, diabetes, and respiratory failure. The assignment is for a 12-week period starting on 09/28/2026, focusing on adult and geriatric patient populations with a patient census of approximately 30 per day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week, 08:00-20:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Must hold an active Maryland or Compact nursing license, and possess BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications. A minimum of 2 years of experience in step-down or telemetry units, with experience managing cardiac telemetries, arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and other specialized procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior charge nurse experience and experience working with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Float: Float within specialty and to similar/lower acuity units as needed.
• Holidays and Weekends: Required to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays.
• Additional Information: This role involves managing adult and geriatric patients with various cardiac and respiratory diagnoses, using moderate to extensive clinical skills including arterial blood gas interpretation, management of cardiac drips, pacemakers, VADs, and other advanced procedures. The facility supports interdisciplinary care with IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, and social services.
