RN - PCU ● About Facility: E. Grover St, Shelby NC 28150 o 241 licensed beds Level 3 Trauma Teaching Hospital? No Certified Chest Pain Center Stroke Center ● Unit Information: Beds: 32 Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months PCU RN experience Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses : Could see any patient not requiring mechanical ventilation CHF, Dysrhythmia, Chest Pain work up, Stroke, Abdominal illnesses and infections, Respiratory illness, Diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, IVDA, etc. ● Patient Ratios: RN: 1: 4 is most common; could possibly go to 1:5 depending on acuity LPN (if applicable): 4:1 CNA: Days 1:12; Nights 1:16 ● Required Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS ● Skills required: Experience with traches, cardiac gtt experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, management of central lines ● Support within the Department: CNA - ADL’s Receptionist/HUC? Dayshift only Charge nurse Resource to assist with all nursing care Phlebotomy? Yes, other than nurse draws IV/VAT Team RT, 24/7 Hospitalist, 24/7 Intensivist, 24/7 Telemetry monitoring bedside and nurses station ● Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC IV Pump: Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Phillips ● Floating: Within region and scope of practice Will be required to float per region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable ▪ Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH) ▪ If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) ● Orientation (facility and unit) : NEO o 2 days departmental ● Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other Call: Possibility of low census call. Can be called back up to 3a for Nights and up to 3p for Days Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks ● Other notes: Scrub Color: Navy Parking: Free?
