Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse for an 8-week travel contract in Torrance, CA. In this role, you will deliver continuous, high-acuity care to complex patients—including those with cardiac conditions, heart failure, post-cardiac procedures, and dysrhythmias—requiring continuous telemetry monitoring and intensive interventions within a Level I Trauma environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, continuous telemetry monitoring, and ECG rhythm interpretation.
- Deliver complex care and life-saving interventions for patients recovering from surgery or managing life-threatening medical conditions.
- Manage post-cardiac procedure care, heart failure protocols, and end-of-life care as required.
- Maintain complete commitment to fulfilling the full 8-week contract length.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted California RN License.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU, Stepdown, or Telemetry RN experience in a metropolitan Level I Trauma institution.
- Certifications:
- AHA BLS
- NIHSS Certification
- MAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) or CPI
- LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City specific)
- Onboarding Clearances: Must complete LA County Employee Health Clearance and on-site Live Scan fingerprinting prior to starting.
