• Float Requirement: May float to equivalent or lower-acuity oncology or medical-surgical units
• Orientation: 72 hours

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• At least 1 year of recent PCU experience required
• Current experience in acute care is strongly preferred
• Experience with high-acuity Progressive Care Unit patients
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong skills in telemetry nursing and progressive care
• Ability to work with oncology-related patient populations is preferred
• Background in ICU or PCU settings is a plus
• Must be comfortable with floating as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to adult patients with complex medical and oncology-related conditions
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Manage PCU-level assignments with a focus on infection prevention and fall reduction
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with unit protocols
• Support patients requiring oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, and advanced respiratory monitoring
• Care for patients with central lines, PICCs, ports, drains, and feeding tubes as needed
• Collaborate with rapid response, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Utilize unit equipment such as telemetry monitors, pumps, bladder scanners, and specialty beds
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow all clinical standards and safety practices
• Deliver excellent patient-centered care while adapting to the needs of a fast-paced progressive care unit
