Job Summary: The organization is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down unit care in Madison, WI. This role involves providing advanced nursing care in a fast-paced, academic medical environment, supporting acutely ill surgical, trauma, and specialty patients. The position offers an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care.
Job Details:
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI RN or compact RN license
Education Requirements: Active RN licensure in Wisconsin or a compact license
Years of Experience: 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years, specifically in inpatient RN roles
Location: Madison, WI
Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, starting 11/09/2026 and ending 02/08/2027
Responsibilities include working in both D6/5, IMC Acute Medical/Progressive Care unit, and B4/3, IMC Thoracic unit, with experience in telemetry, oncology, cardiac, vent and transplant support required
Must pass telemetry exam prior to start; requires proficiency in vent and transplant care
Float rotation may be required
Minimum experience: 2 years of recent acute care experience in the specialty area
Additional qualifications include managing arterial lines, ports, blood products, and complex cardiac rhythms, with an emphasis on team collaboration and patient safety
Must demonstrate strong proficiency in critical care procedures and telemetry monitoring
