Job Summary:
Step Down Unit RN position available in a healthcare facility located in the area. This fast-paced unit requires a knowledgeable and adaptable nurse to provide high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses, including cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes. The role involves supporting patient recovery and stabilization, collaborating with the healthcare team, and ensuring compliance with clinical protocols.

Job Details:

• Location: Not specified, within 50 miles of the candidate's location.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS; 2 years minimum experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step-down or telemetry units, strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to medical floors, ICU, or rehab units.
• Responsibilities: Manage patient care with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5; respond to emergent situations; titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications; assist with patient assessments and documentation in electronic health records; collaborate with nursing staff and physicians.
• Additional Information: First week includes onboarding and 1-2 days of on-floor orientation. Must pass skills exam during orientation with at least 90%. Artificial nails are prohibited; a driver's license is required at submission for radius verification. RTO requests of 7 days or less are accepted upfront; no additional RTO will be approved during the assignment.
