Unit Details:
42-bed PCU/Telemetry service across two units
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 (Days & Nights)
Charge nurses available on each unit
PCT support available
EMR: EPIC
Philips cardiac telemetry monitoring
Patient Population:
Chest pain & elevated troponins
Pre/Post cardiac catheterization
Post-STEMI recovery
NSTEMI
Pacemaker patients
CHF and cardiac medical patients
Oncology overflow
Post-operative orthopedic patients
Peritoneal dialysis (training provided)
Required Skills:
Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Cardiac medication management
Care of cardiac patients
Management of Bipap, CPAP & High-Flow Oxygen (with RT support)
Highlights:
36 guaranteed hours
Every other weekend rotation
Block scheduling available if approved
Rare floating within skill set
Hospitalist, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy available 24/7
Traveler-friendly orientation
Navy blue scrubs required
