The position requires a dedicated nurse capable of supporting a collaborative team environment and managing complex patient needs within a fast-paced hospital setting.
Job Details
Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS; minimum experience required: 2 years
Education Requirements: Valid nursing license; location requirements: within 50 miles of the facility; experience requirement: at least 2 years
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
Additional responsibilities include interpreting telemetry data, titrating drips such as Heparin, insulin, octreotide, and managing a variety of IV infusions like Cardizem and nitro.
The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with duties including supporting code carts, Lucas machines, hoyer lifts, sit and stand aids, and reading/interpretation of telemetry.
Shifts are scheduled in a 6-week cycle, with 6 weekend shifts required within that period.
The unit has a policy of rapid patient turnover, frequent admissions, and team-based care.
Orientation includes classroom training followed by two 12-hour shifts.
Floating to other hospital areas, including ICU and Emergency Department, may be required based on abilities.
Candidates must comply with the fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails.
Candidates need to have a drivers license to confirm geographic eligibility.
RTO (Request for Time Off) requests must be submitted upfront, with a limit of 7 days or less per 13-week contract.
