Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of assignment or compact license eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required
• Experience in acute care progressive care, PCU, or stepdown nursing preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
• Ability to read and verify rhythm strips confidently
• Experience with cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, and Amiodarone
• Experience with BiPAP and insulin drips required
• Proficiency with lab draws and peripheral IV starts
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and adaptability in a high-acuity clinical setting

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric progressive care patients
• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient response to treatment
• Monitor and manage patients on continuous cardiac monitoring
• Titrate ordered cardiac medications and support patients with cardiac rhythm management needs
• Provide care for patients with chest tubes and other progressive care needs
• Support patients requiring BiPAP, insulin infusions, and advanced respiratory modalities
• Perform lab draws, peripheral IV starts, and other bedside nursing skills within scope
• Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, CNAs, and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate safe, timely care
• Float within demonstrated competency to ICU, Med/Surg, or ED holding areas as needed
• Promote patient safety, education, and positive outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment
