- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday expected
- Unit Setting: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown / Intermediate Care
- Floating: May float to Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact state eligibility
- At least 1 year of RN experience required
- Recent stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or acute care experience strongly preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- BLS required
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire
- NIH Stroke certification required
- Strong dysrhythmia recognition and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
- Experience with critical thinking and early recognition of patient deterioration
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions
- Perform thorough assessments, identify priority needs, and develop individualized plans of care
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with clinical standards and policy
- Monitor telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
- Care for patients receiving titratable cardiac drips, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen, and BiPAP support
- Collaborate with physicians, therapy teams, and support staff to coordinate patient-centered care
- Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments, and recovery goals
- Support safe, compassionate care for patients with conditions such as CHF, sepsis, respiratory failure, COPD, STEMI, GI bleeds, and diabetes-related complications
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, professionalism, and quality outcomes throughout every shift
