Job Summary: The Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Wausau, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized cardiac care in a fast-paced intermediate cardiac step-down unit, with a focus on post-operative and arrhythmia management. The position requires working night shifts to ensure continuous patient support and care.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license, BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or ARC, ability to pass an EKG test within the first week of hire, at least one year of recent cardiac experience (Cardiac Step Down Unit, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac Intensive Care Unit), and two years of Intensive Medical Care (IMC)/Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry experience. Candidates must have experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips, and recent EPIC charting experience of at least one year.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
Additional Information: The unit comprises 44 beds with high patient turnover, handling post-operative CABG/Valve cases, thoracotomies, vascular procedures, arrhythmias, CHF, cardiac catheterizations, pacemakers, defibrillators, ablations, acute coronary syndromes, and overflow med/surg cases such as detox, DKA, COPD exacerbations, respiratory failure, and femoral pop bypass. Patient ratios are typically 1:4. The role requires resilient, independent social candidates capable of managing change efficiently. Scrub colors are flexible.

Shift Notes: Shifts are 12-hour nights, with holiday rotation.
