Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialty in Stepdown care to join our dynamic team. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in a critical care environment.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 1900-0730
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Job Responsibilities

• Patient Monitoring: Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs, telemetry, and critical metrics.
• Assessment & Intervention: Perform regular assessments, recognize subtle changes in patient conditions, and initiate necessary interventions or life-saving measures.
• Medication Management: Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered.
• Specialized Care: Provide care for patients recovering from surgery, cardiac events, or those with complex conditions such as ventilated patients or stroke patients requiring neuro checks.
• Collaboration: Work with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists) to develop and implement care plans.
• Education: Educate patients and families on diseases, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and patient responses.

Attendance Policy

Please note that attendance is critical to ensure appropriate staffing coverage and meet patient needs. A strict attendance policy is in place, where any absence from a scheduled shift, arriving more than 20 minutes late, or leaving a shift early without prior approval will result in an attendance strike.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Stepdown/Progressive Care
• Telemetry monitoring experience
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system
• Current BLS (AHA) certification
• Current ACLS (AHA) certification
• Active RN license in Michigan
