Position Overview

The role of the Registered Nurse in the Neuroscience Intermediate Care Unit involves providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a commitment to excellence and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized, compassionate nursing care to patients with neurological conditions.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting all findings accurately.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while ensuring patient safety and compliance.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement effective patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and care plans.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and standards of care to ensure best practices are followed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably in a neuroscience or psychiatric care environment.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Prior experience using EPIC or similar electronic health record systems is mandatory.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Willingness to work every other weekend and during select holidays as part of the contract requirements.

Work Schedule

This position is for night shifts, working 3 twelve-hour shifts each week, with required participation in every other weekend and two designated holidays during the contract period.
