Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse position located in Louisville, Kentucky. This role involves caring for a diverse patient population, including oncology and post-operative patients recovering from complex surgeries. The ideal candidate will provide skilled, compassionate care in a highly collaborative and supportive environment, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety and well-being of patients.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with weekend rotations every other week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid BLS and NIHSS certifications; 2 years of experience in a similar setting; Kentucky nursing license or compact license; experience with blood administration, skeletal traction, drains, JP drains, CT, wound care, wound vac management, Heparin infusion, high flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, PCA pain management.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with vascular access teams and sepsis protocols; first-time travelers are not accepted.
  • Float: Float to mixed acuity setting may be required.
  • Additional Information: New staff orientation includes a 24-hour facility orientation (three 12-hour shifts) plus one 12-hour shift at the start of week two. The unit fosters a patient-centered, collaborative culture dedicated to high-quality care and continuous learning.
