Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg/Telemetry

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg/Telemetry team. This position requires a strong clinical background in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing, with an emphasis on adaptive acuity care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Med Surg/Telemetry setting.
• Occasionally provide Progressive Care Unit (PCU) care, adhering to a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio.
• Administer and monitor medication drips, including insulin, esmolol, and sodium.
• Assist with patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff as required.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Remain flexible and willing to float to any inpatient unit as necessary.

Shift Requirements

This position consists of 12-hour night shifts with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday availability is required, specifically every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience.
• Charge nurse experience is required.
• Strong experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is essential.
• Proficiency with the administration of medication drips is mandatory.
• ICU experience is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 3 months prior travel nursing experience is required.
• Must have a valid Vermont RN license or a compact RN license.
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association are required.
• Must have own transportation for travel between locations.

Orientation and Vacation Policy

Orientation will be provided and is considered non-billable. Requested time off during the assignment must be detailed prior to submission. A maximum of 5 days of requested time off will be accepted.
