Opportunity:

RN - PCU/Stepdown

Job Details:

• PCU/Stepdown unit with cardiac drip experience required - must be able to titrate and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (hard stop requirement)
• Every other weekend required (Friday-Saturday for nights or Saturday-Sunday for days/evenings)
• No on-call required
• No block schedules required
• Patient ratios of 1:3-4
• 48-hour shifts approved
• May float to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed
• May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
• Candidates may choose one holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) but cannot have both
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• At least 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Compact license must be in hand at submission
• Scrub color: Any color for RNs
• No parking fee
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Key skills required include: BiPAP/CPAP management, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, cardiac drip titration, vasoactive drip titration, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, pacemaker management, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and chest tube management among others
• Patient diagnoses include: CHF, Afib RVR, Chest Pain R/O MI, heart cath, cardiac drips, and traditional medical-surgical patients
• Special equipment includes cardiac monitoring and cardiac drip management
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Patient population: Adults and geriatrics
• 42-bed unit

Facility:

This Short Term Acute Care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a dynamic and comprehensive care environment supported by advanced interdisciplinary teams. The facility utilizes Epic for charting and offers robust specialty support services across multiple units.
