Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Stepdown care. The nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit, focusing on adult and geriatric populations.

Shift Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients.
• Participate in patient and family education.
• Provide leadership by collaborating with ancillary nursing and other member personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
• Float to areas as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg experience.
• Experience with cardiac drips is required.
• Experience in dementia management is required.
• NIHSS certification is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic medical records is required.
• Candidate must possess their own vehicle as this is a small community without public transport.
• All required medical and occupational health compliance items must be completed within 5 days of acceptance.

Certifications Required

• NIHSS Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Additional Information

Traveling nurses are expected to work two holiday blocks during the following times:

• Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following
• Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the weekend after
• New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the weekend after

Travelers should expect non-billable orientation time as part of their preparation before starting.
