GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Opportunity:

RN - Heart & Vascular

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday requirement applies
• No call or standby requirement; overtime is available
• Unit contains 32 private beds: 22 stepdown and 12 floor beds
• Stepdown ratio: 1 RN to 3 patients; floor ratio: 1 RN to 6 patients
• Nurse aides available with 1 Clinical Associate per 8-10 patients (goal of 4-5 CAs per shift)
• Cardiac and vascular experience required
• Must be able to titrate drips including heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, TPA, Lasix, and dobutamine
• Experience with cardiac surgery post-op patients including CABG, mid CABs, maze procedures, valve replacements, LVAD, heart transplants, and TAVRs required
• Experience with vascular surgery post-op procedures including AAA repair, CEA, femoral bypass, angiograms, and amputations required
• Experience with cardiology cases including STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, cardiac cath procedures, ICDs, ablations, and pacemakers required
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Cardiac monitor technicians housed on unit to interpret all strips
• Unit charge nurse and house supervisors available 24/7
• Floating to sister units within the Heart and Vascular Institute may be required
• 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Solid royal blue and white
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract

The unit specializes in complex cardiac and vascular surgery cases, offering a full range of advanced cardiovascular services. The facility provides comprehensive support with charge nurses and house supervisors available around the clock, ensuring a well-structured and supported work environment for healthcare professionals.
