Job Summary
Specialty: Step Down Unit, Location: San Francisco, California. This position involves providing specialized care in a dedicated step down unit within a healthcare facility. The role requires promoting patient recovery and bridging acute care with less intensive settings, supporting a diverse patient population including neonates, adolescents, infants, pediatrics, and adults.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); minimum 2 years of recent experience in pediatric, cardiac, or transitional care, and/or step down units; Valid California RN license in hand.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Telemetry experience, arterial lines, central lines, pediatric critical care experience, experience with blood and blood product administration, management of arterial and central lines, high flow nasal cannula, infection control/PPE, interpretation of dysrhythmias, chest tube management, gastric tube management, pediatric early warning scores, post-cardiac procedures, and IV start skills.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must be willing and able to float to other units or facilities as needed within a 75+ mile radius. Orientation will include 48 hours, and travel compliance must be maintained per program policies. References from recent employers required; a minimum experience of 2 years is expected. The start date for this assignment is 08/18/2026, with an orientation registration time of 4:00 PM PST on the Monday before the start date.
