Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (12-Hour Days)
Duration: 13 Weeks
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to join a leading acute care hospital in Philadelphia, PA. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills and experience caring for patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level care.
Minimum Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Pennsylvania or Compact License if applicable)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and progressive care nursing
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor patients with complex medical and cardiac conditions requiring continuous assessment.
- Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient status.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments per physician orders.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Follow hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety standards.
- 13-week contract
- 12-hour Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
- Must be available to work all three scheduled shifts each week throughout the 13-week assignment.
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Experience caring for high-acuity medical and cardiac patients
