Job Details
Position: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse
Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
Start Date: 11/02/2026
End Date: 02/01/2027
Required Qualifications: Valid state licensure in Iowa and Illinois; at least 1 travel contract completed; valid Driver's License; recent skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission; work history/resume; copy of required certifications including BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA); supervisory references at time of submission
Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year of previous stepdown experience; experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, central lines, and other critical care procedures; experience with medications such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, Argatroban
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
Additional Information:
Work may involve float within the same discipline across local campuses
The unit maintains a patient ratio of 1:7
The role may require working 1-2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
Orientation schedule includes multiple dates throughout the year, starting with 01/12/2026 and ending with 12/28/2026
Travel needs are elevated to address staffing ratios, with high volume of open travel needs and a variety of unit experience requirements
