Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Step Down unit. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients requiring intermediate care, monitoring their conditions, and offering support throughout their recovery process.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to patients in the Step Down unit.
• Monitor patient vitals and administer medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about health management and care post-discharge.
• Utilize Epic electronic health record system for documentation and patient management.

Shift Details

This position offers the option of either a 36 or 48-hour work week, with night shifts scheduled as 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00). Please note that block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed.

Scheduling Requirements

• Every other weekend and every other holiday are required.
• Requests for Labor Day weekend off cannot be accommodated.
• Time off requests may be approved for 40 hours.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid RN license in the state of Virginia or have a pending application.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Experience with Epic electronic health records is mandatory.
• Ability to adhere to floating policies within the organization.
