Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Step Down Unit located in Omaha, Nebraska. This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a dedicated step down setting, supporting patients transitioning from intensive care to general wards. The role requires clinical expertise, professionalism, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
- Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS required; ONS/ONCC preferred but not required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in a step down or similar acute care setting
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts; every other weekend; self-scheduling to meet unit needs
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, current BLS and ACLS certifications, minimum 2 years RN experience in a relevant specialty, based in Nebraska or willing to relocate
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult patient populations, strong clinical skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Equipment: High-flow respiratory equipment, including high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, ventilators; IV pumps (Alaris), electronic medical record system (Epic)
- Unit Notes: Pass/Fail exam during orientation with a 90% passing score; artificial nails are prohibited; Driver's license required for verification of address; floating to other acute care units may be required; two days of unit orientation; experience with titrating drips such as Insulin and Cardizem is beneficial; team emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and respect for diverse patient populations.
