Requirements
At least 2 years of STAC step-down experience
At least one prior travel assignment; first-time travelers are not accepted
BLS and NIHSS
Schedule and patient care
Patients: Trauma and post-surgical patients, including those with injuries from motor vehicle accidents, gunshots, assaults, and ATV accidents, as well as patients recovering from amputations, Whipple procedures, cholecystectomies, and other surgeries
Skills: Blood administration, skeletal and Buck’s traction, JP and chest tube management, wound care and wound VACs, heparin drips, high-flow oxygen, and care of stable BiPAP patients
Floating: To mixed-acuity units only
Weekends: Every other weekend
Holidays: Based on the facility schedule
On-call: None
