Position Description: The RN in the PCU maintains quality patient care by following established nursing care plans, supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, and adhering to safety and clinical protocols. The role emphasizes patient and employee safety, with a focus on safe patient handling, infectious disease control, and hazard prevention.
Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience, with recent critical care experience; educational credentials suitable for RN licensure; ability to work nights with a 12-hour shift schedule and minimum of 48 hours per week.
Additional Information: Performs nursing assessments within eight hours of admission, develops individualized care and discharge plans, and provides timely documentation. Supervises ancillary staff, ensures safety protocols, and participates in team activities to foster a positive work environment. The RN may assume charge responsibilities following orientation and actively pursue ongoing professional development.
