Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week, 13-week assignment period
- Required Qualifications: Missouri Licensed Registered Nurse (RN), BLS certification, MANDT or CPI certification (must be pre-existing), 2 years of relevant pediatric psychiatric experience, patient ratios of 1:12, experience with child/adolescent populations, and trauma-informed care training or willingness to obtain prior to start.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in treatment settings involving children and adolescents, including disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar, and trauma-related conditions; familiarity with electrocardiogram monitoring, medication administration, and crisis intervention techniques.
- Special Requirements: Must have CPI or MANDT certification, and Missouri Children's Division background check required. Flu vaccination is required; COVID-19 vaccination is not.
- Patient Population: Children and adolescents with mental health diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, developmental disorders, and trauma-related conditions.
- Facility Details: Pediatric psychiatric hospital with 46 beds staffed with RNs and Behavioral Health Technicians supporting patient care on four units. Staffing ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:4, with RNs supporting medication passes and overall unit management.
- Additional Information: The assignment involves adherence to crisis prevention and intervention protocols, use of seclusion and voluntary/involuntary commitments, and completing required compliance documentation within deadlines. The position supports interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive mental health care.
