Job Summary: Pediatric Psychology (PEDS PSYCH) in Bangor, ME This role involves providing mental health care in a free-standing acute inpatient pediatric behavioral health facility. The position requires flexibility to float between adult and pediatric units, with a focus on managing disorders such as eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric conditions for patients aged 5 to 18 years old. The candidate must be adaptable to a dynamic environment with a diverse patient population.
Job Details:
Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Certification of Basic Life Support (BLS), Maine State License; 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience required; Pediatric behavioral health experience preferred; First-time traveler accepted; Qualifications include relevant certifications, education, and a minimum of 1 year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric behavioral health experience; de-escalation experience, experience with physical restraints, medication administration, group facilitation, and documentation skills.
Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
Additional Information: Orientation will be provided on the facility and unit; first-week training Monday through Friday and subsequent 12-hour shifts; every other weekend rotation; no guaranteed block scheduling; holiday work expected in rotation; self-scheduling for shifts; scrubs must be solid and professional; free parking available; heavy snow conditions to be expected during winter. Staff will be trained on de-escalation techniques and scenario-based practice every other week, with on-site MOAB review.
