39-bed Pediatric Stepdown/Acute Care Unit
Patient age range: 2 weeks to 18 years
All pediatric specialties cared for within one unit
50–60% of patients require technology-dependent care
Focus on chronic illness and transitional care
No continuous drips or post-surgical patients
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4
