Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred License: NC or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Preferred previous charge experience. Experience with pediatric cardiac patients. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Cardiovascular Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. We are seeking candidates with at least 1 year of nursing experience in critical care. The role involves caring for neonates, infants, and children with complex congenital heart disease. Candidates must possess current BLS and PALS certifications. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to acute and chronic patient care, administration of medications and blood products, management of ventilated patients, and hemodynamic monitoring. Candidates should be familiar with accessing ports, central lines, and various critical care equipment. Weekend availability is required, with shifts scheduled every other weekend. Floating to other units may be expected. The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and physical therapy. Patients in this unit present with complex diagnoses requiring specialized care and attention.
