Job Title: CVPICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVPICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day/Night rotation Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent dedicated CVPICU experience required; floating experience does not count. License: Active state nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, PALS Must-Have: Candidate must be cardiac trained. Candidate must have the ability to rotate shifts every 3-4 weeks. Candidate must work every other weekend and every other holiday. Candidate must float to other critical care units as needed, including NICU and PICU. Description: The CVPICU Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing care of assigned patients. The nurse will manage and monitor patients requiring complex care and support post-cardiac surgery. The nurse will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care. The nurse will provide education, support, and guidance to families of patients. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. The role may require the nurse to float to other critical care areas, depending on unit needs. The working environment includes direct patient care, and nurses are expected to adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and families is a priority.
