Job Title: RN CVICU Pediatrics Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of one year in a CVICU setting in a trauma environment License: Current RN License issued by the state board or current multistate compact RN License Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification Must-Have: - CVICU experience in a level I trauma setting Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists the physician in examining patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans during hospital stays and at discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Experience: Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures. Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services. Ability to apply nursing techniques. Ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. Some computer skills are required. Preferred Skills & Experience: N/A Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program. Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher from a board-approved program. Preferred Certifications & Licensure: N/A
