Job Description: RN – Pediatric Dialysis
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to pediatric patients requiring dialysis services. This role is responsible for delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care while collaborating with physicians, patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support positive patient outcomes.
The RN will provide care for assigned patients, monitor clinical conditions, administer treatments, educate families, and maintain compliance with professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
Provides professional nursing care to assigned pediatric dialysis patients in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Assumes responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
Monitors patient conditions, obtains physiological data, recognizes changes in patient status, and initiates appropriate interventions.
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions, treatments, and changes in physician orders accurately and timely.
Administers medications, intravenous therapies, and blood products as prescribed.
Initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions while ensuring patient safety.
Assists physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Provides education and support to patients and families regarding care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
Addresses patient and family concerns while promoting a positive healthcare experience.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and support clinical goals.
Makes appropriate referrals based on patient care needs.
Delegates tasks to clinical support staff while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes.
Maintains professional licensure, certifications, and ongoing education to support competency and professional growth.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives and promotes a culture of safety and inclusion.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of recent Registered Nurse experience in patient care.
Experience providing care in a pediatric or dialysis setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of advanced nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
Ability to independently organize, prioritize, coordinate, and evaluate patient care.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to advocate for patients and maintain patient-centered care.
Ability to manage complex clinical situations while maintaining professionalism.
Knowledge of healthcare compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and clinical documentation tools.
Education Requirements
Required Education:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
OR
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
Required Certifications & Licensure
Active Registered Nurse license issued by the appropriate state board of nursing or a valid multistate compact RN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Assignment Details

Hours: 36 hours per week
Shift: 5:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 08/10/2026
End Date: 11/07/2026
Experience Requirement: 3–5 years of Registered Nurse patient care experience required.
