**Exciting Opportunity for Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN!**
**Job Description:**
- **Position:** Registered Nurse (RN)
- **Specialty:** Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- **Location:** Springfield, MO
- **Unit:** Pediatric ICU 6F
- **Shift:** Days, 6:30am - 7pm
- **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
- **Assignment Length:** 13 weeks
- **Openings:** 2 positions available
**Essential Requirements:**
- **Licensure:** Current RN License in Missouri or meets eligibility criteria
- **Certifications:**
- BLS
- PALS from AHA only
- TNCC
- **Experience:**
- Minimum 2 years in PICU
- Vent competent, with at least 1 year post-orientation experience
**Unit Information:**
- **Number of Beds:** 12
- **Patient Ratios:**
- ICU status: 2:1
- Intubated: 1:1
- Pediatric status: 3:1
- **Patient Types:** Trauma, Burn, Neurosurgery, Pediatric surgery, Respiratory, Sepsis, Endocrinology, Chronic/Trach, Hematology/Oncology, Orthopedics
- **Technology:** EMR - EPIC
**Work Environment:**
- **Float Requirements:** Potential to work in NICU, PICU, Pediatric medical floor, or Peds ED as needed
- **Dress Code:**
- Scrub Color: Black
- Unacceptable attire: unprofessional clothing, jeans
**Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:**
- Strong human relations and communication skills
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in PICU nursing
**Physical and Mental Requirements:**
- Stand and walk most of the time while on duty
- Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
- Perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and gripping up to specified weight limits
