Location: Newark, New Jersey

Schedule: 12-hour shifts; every other weekend required; must work or provide coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's); facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
Highlights:
- 19-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with variable acuity and stepdown capability, serving infants through adolescents
- Patient ratios: PICU 1:1 to 1:2; Stepdown 1:3; float assignments maintain appropriate ratios based on unit
- Part of one of the largest pediatric critical care programs in New Jersey with 24/7 intensivist-led coverage
- EPIC charting system; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
- Navy blue scrubs provided; floating required within skillset to Pediatrics and NICU for appropriate assignments
- Work within an integrated healthcare system offering advanced pediatric cardiac, emergency, and Level IV NICU services
Requirements:
- Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of PICU critical care experience; 1 year of cardiac experience strongly preferred
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP preferred
- EPIC charting experience required
- Demonstrated competency in ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac pacemakers, chest tube management, and pediatric dosage calculations
- Experience with IV therapy, central line management, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids
- Proficiency in airway management including intubation assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
- At least one supervisory reference required at time of submission
- Previous travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Former employees of this healthcare system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
