Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU, including patients up to 25 years of age
Monitor and manage patients requiring epilepsy monitoring and inotrope administration
Perform and interpret EKG/ECG rhythm recognition as part of ongoing patient assessment
Rotate between day and night shifts as needed to meet unit operational requirements
Complete required orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate evaluations with an acceptable passing score
Participate in holiday rotation, working at minimum every other holiday
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse license – must hold a permanent Ohio license or a Compact state license in hand at time of submission
Minimum of 18 months of permanent (non-travel) experience in PICU or the specialty being applied for
Minimum of 18 months of recent Pediatric nursing experience (travel experience accepted)
Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required at time of submission – no pending certifications accepted
Experience with EKG interpretation and inotrope administration
One professional reference from a manager, Assistant Nurse Manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty from an assignment within the past 12 months (co-worker references not accepted)
Preferred Experience / Skills
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred
Experience with epilepsy monitoring in a pediatric setting
